Step 9 – The Unforeseen Reward
After surviving death, the hero earns their reward or accomplishes their goal.
For my first Item, I chose to go with a Scroll with a reflective surface on the inside.
I plan to place it in the reward pile along side the gold and books.
The scroll looks fairly plain on the outside but shows a reflective gold surface on the inside. People tend to pass by it due to the plain look and go for the gold or books but it is just as much of a reward as the other items in the pile.
The scroll is meant to be encouraging and to show that finding out more about yourself and having confidence in yourself is a great reward.
A plain scroll that opens to show a gold reflective inside. It is among the unforeseen rewards of step 9 to show the hero that it is just as good to gain knowledge and confidence in themselves.
My second item is a toy that I can make into a trophy for the gaming treehouse.
I chose this item due to how easy it would be to convert it and because the creatures and items it is based on are based on pop culture that most people would know and they tend to help the main character or player through the story.
A toy left behind by a previous hero who went though the steps of the Hero’s Journey. It resembles a pixie or fairy from video games and the golden finch from Harry Potter.
