The Hero’s Journey: Infographics Final

The Hero’s Journey: Infographics Final

This quarter has been full of adventures in second life and learning more about what Peninsula College has to offer. We went shopping to buy what we wanted for the gallery. On top of that, we got to choose how it would be set up. My class chose the elements. Due to this, each room is a different element.

I also participated in the project with the Montana students to help improve their manual. I created an example if my idea which is the one in the image below labeled “Before and After”.

Some of us helped with the invite for the presentation where I snapped a few pictures since I thought it would be good to have the images on hand.

Step 6 – Tests, Allies, and Enemies

While I was setting out some more wolves in step 6 to go with my infographic, I was able to help and watch as others worked on their own steps. The best part about that was when they were setting up the goats. in step 7. I was able to help grab a few images that were useful for someone else’s infographic.

But for the main part of my quest, I made sure to connect the clubs with the wolves. Wolves tend to live in packs and are very sociable. Due to this, I chose to it look like the wolves are chatting and hanging out around the breakfast area. I thought it would be nice to make it look like they are actually interacting with each other instead of just chilling by themselves. That didn’t seem like something wolves would do or would go with the step. The wolves are there to help people along the way so that is what I intend for them to do. Plus, people and animals tend to gather around areas of food to eat, socialize, and engage. Plus, it was good enrichment for the step to have something that looked more like a social hotspot than a lonely breakfast area.

Throughout this class, I have been working on my actual infographic as well. I finally had settled on a flowchart right before the midterm. I think that it was probably my best option due to the info I had.

My infographic isn’t research heavy but I did have a ton of text to place and work with from the little that I did have. I chose the wolf background to help with the visual of the clubs.

Wolves are pack animals that engage and socialize with each other. Those are two of my keys to success anyway. I thought it would just be the best fit. I could have used a screenshot but I wanted to draw something so that is exactly what I did. Plus I wanted a fairly simple background. I had tried to see what it would be like if I placed the wolves in the infographic how I had in SL but it just didn’t hit the same.

I think it looks a lot better how I have it now. I did brighten up the colors a bit so it wasn’t just all dark but still kept my boxes the way they were. I had also changed the way that “No” was on my infographic to be less direct and abrupt. I wanted it to flow a bit easier and give lighter answers than a straight up “No”.
